Eiffage Énergie Systèmes’ teams were appointed by Eiffage Construction to orchestrate automation of a robotic cell for panel (metal formwork) cleaning used on a number of its sites.
Formwork panel cleaning is a delicate operation requiring the services of an operator equipped with a high-pressure cleaner with a 1,000-bar capacity. Eiffage Construction has therefore chosen to reorganize its formwork recovery workshop and put a robotic cleaning cell into place, with the aim of protecting employees against accidents,
“The robot we designed faces a turntable on which the panel is placed by the operators. The robotic cell is then closed, enabling the robot to measure the panel during a first cycle. After validation of the measurements, a wash cycle is triggered by one of the operators. Once the front of the panel has been washed, the turntable revolves, enabling the back of the panel to be washed in its turn” said business manager Pierre-Michel Matos.
The cell, equipped with a Falch generator, Stäubli waterproof robot (TX200HE) and turntable with capacity for very large formwork panels, was integrated into Eiffage Construction’s process by our teams. Our industrial solutions experts took charge of researching, designing and building the robotic cell, while our HVAC and energy engineering specialists were at work on the air-handling unit and general electricity.
“All our partners involved on the site were able to make use of their expertise to carry through this project. We have different trades, but we sat down around the table to work together. The system is now up and running, and we have just to train Eiffage Construction’s operators in order to complete our assignment” concluded Pierre-Michel Matos.
